System Administrator

The Opportunity

We are looking for a system administrator to manage our ever-growing infrastructure. Help create and build the infrastructure for a rapidly growing consulting, training, and web development company. The system administrator will wear many hats including coordinating infrastructure needs for large consulting projects, planning deployment for web applications, and providing support to internal users. Other responsibilities include maintenance and oversight of servers, email, product infrastructure, as well as account provisioning / de-provisioning. The applicant must also be comfortable with communicating needs with various parts of the company for planning purposes.

Candidate must be based out of Toronto, Canada. Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 2+ years full-time experience
  • Linux Server administration and maintenance
    • In particular Ubuntu/Debian based Distros
    • Both day to day admin task's and advanced configuration
  • Experience deploying web applications
  • Some DBA exposure to open source database packages such as MySQL/Postgres
  • Desktop support troubleshooting
  • Scripting: bash, python
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Desire to learn more about security
  • Amazon AWS (focus on EC2, S3, Cloudwatch) familiarity

Nice to Have

  • Django deployment
  • Puppet/other config management systems
  • VMware ESXi, VMware server
  • Familiarity and interest in open source projects
