Security Compass Officially Recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces™

We’re thrilled to announce that, in addition to being named to the Great Place to Work Institute’s 2019 Best Workplaces™ for Inclusion and 2019 Best Workplaces™ for Women Lists, we were also just named one of this year’s Best Workplaces™ in Canada!

We ranked 14th on the list in the category of companies with 100–999 employees, and we received this recognition in the face of great competition, with more than 400 registrations and over 80,000 employees participating. We consider this a great accomplishment, and we plan to continue on this path to success.

This recognition was a result of a thorough and independent analysis run by the Great Place to Work Institute. The competition process was based on 2 criteria: confidential employee survey results and the Institute’s in-depth review of the organization’s culture. The majority of the weight is put on employee survey results (66%). The data collected relates to 5 trust-building dimensions, including credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

As our CEO, Nish Bhalla says, “we have strived to make strategic investments in our people and to build a company that supports work-life balance, which has helped us to create a high-trust, high-performance culture.” He goes on to say that “it’s especially rewarding to know that this recognition is driven by employee feedback,” and he looks forward to “many years of success driven by a strong corporate culture and extraordinary talent.”

And, it’s true: we have come a long way, since our beginnings as a security consultancy in 2004. Now, we’re a company with multiple product and service offerings, almost 180 employees, and a variety of talented experts. To accommodate our people, we make sure that they’re supported. We show our appreciation by offering a number of perks, including flex hours and an open paid time off policy. All of our people have unlimited personal days and the option to work from home. Our leaders want their team members to have a healthy work-life balance, and so we offer maximal autonomy to help accommodate this lifestyle. We’re an open and communicative workplace with regular one-on-ones between any 2 employees in the company as well as frequent events and social gatherings.

We welcome diversity and strongly encourage members of any race, gender identity, or sexual orientation to be a part of our culture. Security Compass was recently recognized by the Great Places to Work Institute as a 2019 Best Workplaces™for Inclusion and a 2019 Best Workplaces™ for Women. In an industry where women represent only 11% of the global workforce, Security Compass is committed to closing this gender gap by making a deliberate effort to enhance universal acceptance in the recruitment process and the workplace. The recent ‘Women in Tech’ podcast highlights various interviews with the women of Security Compass and their unique experiences in the world of technology.
