Dr. Cavoukian is now the Executive Director of the Global Privacy & Security by Design Centre. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Ted Rogers Leadership Centre at Ryerson University, and a Faculty Fellow of the Center for Law, Science & Innovation at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

Prior to TELUS, Carey served at the Communications Security Establishment in a variety of technology, intelligence and cybersecurity leadership roles bringing security innovation to the Government of Canada and building collaborative relationships with global information and communications technology companies.
Carey is an active contributor to the broader cybersecurity ecosystem, having served as Chair of the Cambridge Forum on Canadian Cyber Security and the Industry Co-Chair of the Canadian Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (CSTAC). In addition to his industry leadership roles, Carey is a member of TELUS Ventures Investment Review Committee, served on the board of ZenEdge and is active in the Security Innovation Network (SINet) helping to select the annual innovator awards (SINET 16).

Later on, Nima started developing models to better understand the mechanisms of neuronal communication. His passion for expanding human consciousness through understanding biological systems led him to create more intelligent and efficient machines to help humanity tackle some of its most significant challenges.
In 2017, Nima founded Bel Research, an R&D firm focused on bridging the gap between academia and industry in the applications of emotion-based AI. In 2020, he started Hummingbirds AI, which leverages vision AI and biometrics to create the fastest and most convenient authentication tool to access computers. GuacamoleID, the company's first product, enables touchless continuous authentication for a variety of use cases, making access to computers automated through facial biometrics and eliminating the need for repetitive passwords.
