These hackers are hired to break in to your systems
As a rise in online crime feeds the demand for tighter Internet security, one Toronto company is reaping a bonanza.
In just 12 months, revenues at Security Compass, which specializes in “ethical hacking,” have jumped 229 per cent. And staff has doubled to 54 employees during that time.
Founded by CEO Nish Bhalla in 2004, the firm is hired by banks and retailers, among others, to try to infiltrate their networks, steal money, hijack mobile apps, crash websites — anything that might identify loopholes which malicious hackers could exploit.
